Mammoth!
Gnomes are rather small, you know, and for some weird reason they have the largest mounts in all of WoW. Maybe they feel a subconscious need to compensate for something, but the fact remains, all gnomes manage to choose the largest of the flocks for their mounts so they can look down on the lesser races from their high saddle perches.
And the largest of all mounts is the mammoth. So a gnome on a mammoth must be pure win, right?
Paynne, the fearsome gnome warlock, recently found to her pleasant surprise that amongst her ambling meandering dungeon runs she had actually managed to scrape together a total of 317 Stone Keeper Shards.
And of course you all know what you can buy for a mere 300 such shards? That’s right, the Wintergrasp people sell a Black War Mammoth for that measly sum.
If you look closely you can see the blue-clad black-haired gnome in the saddle, and for those who can’t I will handily provide a close-up:

Gnomes aren’t small.. they are teensy wincy :)
Gratz on the Mammoth. I wanted one for ages and ages and ages.. and then I bought it with my precious Stonekeepers shards. And then I went trundling off to STV (not sure why but probably to go tiger hunting in ZG) on said mammoth. And got stuck under a bridge on the way. I haven’t used it since :( Oh, except for the Mammoth parade around Dalaran. Mammoths are really cool, maybe I should just buy in a tonne of baby spice…

The mammoths are a bit annoying in that they tend to get stuck wherever you go, but then again they are so enormously endearing when they jump around with their legs splaying to all sides so I can easily overlook that getting-stuck-tendency :-)
Noggenfogger elixir should work too, I think I read somewhere that you could mount up while being small now.
You are so right! How could I always miss the beauty of a gnome on a mammoth. I had to get one right away – and posted a picture as well. Except my picture is too dark and you can see the gnome even less because it’s night-time in Stormwind.
